FAR BEYOND THE LANDSCAPE - THE SAN JOAQUIN VALLEY
As the farmland diminishes in this country, it can still be found in the San Joaquin Valley, especially when traveling down Interstate 5. This route has been a pathway home for me for over 25 years and I have yet to tire of the vast, open skies and panoramic views that can be found.
The crops have changed over the years… less cotton, more vineyards and an abundance of almond orchards. There are also posted signs that speak of the farmers' water woes and the struggles they face yet, the agriculture continues. I hope this will always be so for it is a valley filled with miles and miles of open space that lets your mind wonder and wander far beyond the landscape itself.
